Pullman Bunker Bay Resort has been crowned the winner of the ‘Meeting, Exhibition or Event Venue - Capacity less than 500’ category for the second year running at the Meeting & Events Australia (MEA) WA Industry Awards held in Perth on 8 March 2019.

This prestigious award recognises the guest-centric efforts of Pullman’s team and acknowledges the work of the resort in playing an active role in promoting the Margaret River Region as a world class destination for event organisers.

Pullman Resort’s Conference and Event Sales Manager Zac Leach also took home the award for WA ‘Sales, Marketing or Business Development Person of the Year’ – a tremendous achievement after a year of record-breaking results.

Pullman Bunker Bay Resort Reservation Agent Isabel Bernhagen was also a Finalist for the Ungerboeck Young Professional Scholarship.

Leighton Yates, General Manager at Pullman Bunker Bay Resort, highlighted the collaborative and creative efforts of the resort’s experienced events team.

"Winning the Meeting, Exhibition or Event Venue under 500 category for a second year is a tremendous honour - we are so proud of our team,” Mr Yates said.

“At Pullman our team specialise in stripping back dull meeting conventions and reinventing them. Event organisers are encouraged to step outside of meeting rooms to explore our amazing destination which is a true ‘business playground’. These latest awards further strengthen Pullman’s position as Western Australia’s premier conference and event venue.”

"Zac has been a star performer for the resort and continues to be an emerging leader for the Australian MICE industry.“

Zac Leach, Conference & Event Sales Manager, echoed these sentiments, explaining that the resort’s business events concept is designed to blur the lines between work and play.

“The meeting experience at Pullman embraces the distinct natural beauty of the Margaret River Region. Our goal is to bring this to life for our guests – from table decorations using native flora sources from the resort’s gardens to new menus that showcase local and foraged indigenous produce. We also offer a holistic approach with healthy choice, immersive wellness breaks and special spa experiences designed for busy delegates,” Mr Leach said.

Pullman Bunker Bay Resort now moves forward to represent WA and compete for the national title at the MEA National Awards Dinner and Presentation in Brisbane on 2 April 2019.
