Taste The Region
As famous for its farm produce as its vineyard bounty, the Margaret River region is a world-renowned gourmand destination. We’ve selected some of our favourite vineyards from the region’s 200 plus possibilities, one of the best breweries, and a premium ice cream maker on a local dairy farm.

Vasse Felix (Caves Road, Cnr Tom Cullity Drive, Cowaramup) – Margaret River’s Mediterranean climate, ancient soils and ocean influence creates exceptional wines. Even though the area is relatively small, it’s the source for one out of every five bottles of premium Australian wine. And at Vasse Felix you’ll discover where it all began. Founded in 1967 by Dr Tom Cullity, the vineyard produces some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay in the world.

Leeuwin Estate (Stevens Rd, Margaret River) – Another of the region’s leading family run wineries, and a must-visit for a Margaret River wine tour, the Leeuwin Estate prides itself on ‘the art of fine wine’. A seasonal cellar door charcuterie board is available on Monday and Tuesday, an exceptional lunch and dinner menu is served at the award-winning restaurant throughout the week, and premium wine tastings can be enjoyed daily on this remarkable estate.

Eagle Bay Brewing Co. (Eagle Bay Rd, Eagle Bay) – On a third-generation family farm looking out towards Cape Naturaliste in the northwestern corner of Margaret River you’ll find some of the best beer in WA. Beers are produced in a sunshine powered brewery, are handcrafted in small batches, and only use rainwater, hops, yeast, and malted barley for a distinctive and pure taste. Pop in for a tasting session, fill a growler, or explore their delicious dining menu.

Millers Ice Creamery (314 Wirring Rd, Cowaramup) – After nearly 90 years of dairy farming, you can be assured that the Miller family know a thing or two about fresh, delicious full cream local milk. They turned their hands to ice cream making in 2010, and in the last decade have perfected handmade old-fashioned ice cream. Visit the farm and enjoy a tub of famous Cowtown Coffee ice cream for an indulgent afternoon in the sunshine.

All-Ages Exploring
The area’s appeal extends beyond it’s produce, with some of Australia’s most stunning beaches, unique geology, and biodiversity waiting to be explored. Guests at Pullman Bunker Bay Resort have one of the region’s most beautiful, secluded beaches on their doorstep, and other highlights above and below ground just a short drive away.

Ngilgi Cave (76 Yallingup Caves Road, Yallingup) – Step into the ampitheatre at the heart of a network of tunnels in the Ngilgi Cave and the ceiling of crystalline stalactites will take your breath away. This beautiful cave was one of the first recognized tourist attractions in Western Australia with good reason. A semi-guided tour of the caves will help you appreciate the history of this very special natural wonder. Other stunning caves in the region include the ethereal reflections in Lake Cave and the ancient fossils in Mammoth Cave.

Hamelin Bay Beach (Cape to Cape Walk Track, Boranup) – With so many beaches to choose from, picking just one ‘must visit’ beach on your Margaret River escape is almost impossible. For surfing we could have easily suggested the idyllic Yallingup Beach, and for swimming we couldn’t forget Gnarabup Beach, but our highlight has to be Hamelin Bay Beach. The paper-white sand, turquoise waters, and rich diversity of marine life make this an amazing spot for a sunny beach day.
