Back by popular demand! Resort guests and visitors to the Margaret River…

Join us for a relaxing lunch and soak up the stunning vistas of Bunker Bay, complemented by Martine's vibrant photography. All works are for sale and no prior reservations required. View our lunch menus.

    Artist Biography

Martine Perret began began her professional career as freelance photographer in Sydney in 1999, while also working as photographer and desk editor at The Australian Financial Review.

Her interest in photojournalism took her to Timor-Leste in 2003.  For the next decade she worked for the United Nations as a peacekeeping mission photographer documenting life in conflict zones such as Burundi, South Sudan, West Africa (at the height of the Ebola response), East Timor and the Democratic Republic of The Congo.

While the years spent in the field with her camera were truly rewarding, the nomadic lifestyle took its toll. Needing to drop her suitcase somewhere, and craving the open spaces and rugged natural beauty that had brought her from her European homeland to Australia in the first place, she returned to Australia in 2003 and established a home base in Margaret River.

Her first project after moving to Western Australia was a photographic exhibition and book launch in July 2014, titled 'Margaret River Region FROM ABOVE', a self-published book on aerial views of the South West region.

In July 2015, she decided to fly over the Western Australian Goldfield’s salt lakes and photograph the series called ‘Gungurrunga Ngawa’ (Look Above). The ethereal beauty of the area’s unique shapes and textures when seen from the air reveal an extraordinary and ancient land. These images were exhibited in October 2015 and are part of the broader body of work ‘Ngala Wongga’ (Come Talk), documenting the speakers of the Goldfields languages, their connection to the land and the cultural significance of Australia’s endangered languages that was inaugurated at the Goldfields Arts Center in Kalgoorlie on 20 September 2016.

Martine is represented by Margaret River Gallery. Learn more at www.margaretrivergallery.com.au

    About Brown Hill Estate

Brown Hill Estate is a picturesque winery and vineyard situated along the Rosa Brook Road just 10 minutes drive from Margaret River. The gently rolling property with rocky soils, coupled with topnotch viticultural practices consistently produces berries of strong flavor and color.

Founded in 1997, this is a family owned and run business, with co-owners Jim, Gwen and Nathan Bailey (the winemaker). The aim of Brown Hill Estate has always been to bring its customers the finest Margaret River red and white wines that they love to pour.

Brown Hill Estate strongly believes in the saying that “great wines are made in the vineyard”. Therefore, the vines are not irrigated. Instead, they are left to benefit from the gravelly, harsh soil and hot, sunny climate. This results in intensely flavored, small grapes that in turn lead to intensely flavored, deeply colored wines.

Over the years, Brown Hill Estate has won a number of awards. The vineyard was ranked “WA Small Producer Of The Year” for two consecutive years by Ray Jordan’s WA Wine Guide 2009 and 2010. Their Chaffers Shiraz was ranked the best value wine in Western Australia by Ray Jordan’s WA Wine Guide 2012, and the Bill Bailey Shiraz Cabernet 2013 was applauded "Best Red Blend - Non Cabernet Dominant" in The Western Australian Wine Guide 2016. View more awards.

*Event is subject to availability. All dinner and accommodation bookings are pre-paid at the time of reservation and are non-refundable. Packages cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts, including Accor Plus.

    Complimentary Yoga Classes

Shelley has been leading health and fitness classes for over 25 years and is one of Western Australia’s longest accredited fitness instructors. Shelley's regular clients range from beginners to experienced, 14 to 74 year olds, tradies and surfers to business people and mums. Shelley believes that through the practice of yoga there is a great connection with the mind and deeper layers of our being that very few other physical activities touch on, and sees teaching as more than guiding people to understand, strengthen and stretch their bodies, but also to find some peace, calm and contentment in life.
